Farmers Market Sales Associate
Location: Oʻahu Farmers Markets (Kaka’ako & Kailua)
Pay: $18–22/hr depending on experience
Hours: Part-time, primarily weekends (6a-1p)
About Shaka Butter
Shaka Butter is a Hawaii-based food brand making super chunky coconut peanut butter in unique flavors like Banana, Cacao, and Espresso. We focus on local ingredients, great texture, and making a pantry staple taste incredible. We sell at farmers markets, local stores, and online.
Position Overview
We’re looking for a friendly, reliable, and outgoing person to run our farmers market booth, interact with customers, offer samples, and sell products. You will be the face of the brand at the market, so personality, reliability, and customer interaction skills are very important.
Responsibilities
- Set up and break down market booth (tent, table, signage, products)
- Prepare and serve samples
- Talk story with customers and tell them about Shaka Butter
- Sell products and handle cash and card payments
- Track inventory and sales
- Keep booth clean and organized
- Pack unsold products and equipment after market
- Send a short sales summary after each market
Ideal Candidate
- Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable talking to strangers
- Reliable and punctual (this is very important)
- Drivers license (required)
- Food Handler Card
- Interested in food, local products, or small businesses
- Comfortable handling money and payments
- Able to lift and carry market bins/tables (30–40 lbs)
- Previous retail, food service, or farmers market experience is a plus
Bonus If You:
- Love peanut butter
- Are active on Instagram/social media
- Have farmers market or brand ambassador experience
- Have a car for transporting supplies
